prescription: sunshine ✺

I'm not sure what season I'm in ... last week we had the air conditioner on for record-breaking heat; then massive thunder/hail storms and the heater switched back on for the weekend when evening temperatures dropped into the low 40s (that's like 5 degree for you celsius folk.) I keep shuffling my potted plants in and out of the house and even Moose dog required his jacket for a few morning walks.

My mood has been as variable as the weather: energetic highs followed by bottom scraping blahs and bah humbugs. This week's 52 Photos Project prompt is a ray of light. When I read that I admit I grumble-snorted as I pulled my fleece jacket on.

Yet this morning I went to wake up my girl and low and behold: light!

Amazing how taking a few pictures before my morning coffee transformed my mood from ... yes, dark to light. Thank you Mr. Sunshine ... I hope to see more of you in whatever season we are in.

Check out all the sunshiny goodness captured by these amazing photographers. Grab a few rays and observe the effect it has upon your overall well-being. And then, take a picture and savor the experience.

  2. Way to take advantage of the ray of light! Kudos for that! I think our world has to come to grips with the vast changes of weather. I, too, have put the heat on intermittently just to "take the chill off" the air. As the first one up (5:00 a.m.!) I make that decision! I just need to remember to turn it OFF! But this week has been without rays of sunshine, not even a glimpse here nor there. We seem to be going through cycles of 5 or 6 days of relentless great weather followed by 5 or 6 days of grey, cold and rain. I am finding it quite hilarious how people get so entrenched into nasty moods with the change to grey and then so zen with the sun stretches. Of course, I am not immune to that either, but I am aware of it and for some reason I just know when it's not so great that it will change and I am able to coast along on the memory of the sunny days. Not at all like me, but now I'm rambling.

  4. Achoooo! I'm sneezing wherever I go. I have been travelling south to north, east to west. Spring has been on my heels all the way. My nose is dripping, my eyes tearing and itching and sneezes have been unrelenting. Sun or rain, the pollen is airborne and I've been breathing it in. One hopes this means spring is truly making her way into our lives and the weather/summer (whatever it turns out to be) will eventually make room for bliss in the moment. My family is counting on, banking on, depending on sunshine and warmth in the Bow River Valley for THE WEDDING weekend of July 31st. IF Will and Kate could pull off the Big Day before the whole world in rainy London, England, our humble selves can do it too. When all else fails, we can always talk about the weather!!!
